Course Reflection
Before enrolling in the course, EDEL 624:Technology for School Administrators, I felt pretty confident about my knowledge in the area of technology. I would say that I felt like I was a “Tech-Savvy” teacher. The reason for this is because I have tried to take at least one technology course, at our local community college, each year, and I love incorporating the new things that I learn into my daily classroom instruction. Therefore, most of the assignments for the course involved technology concepts with which I was familiar. Nevertheless, there were a lot of new forms of technology with which I was introduced, such as a Wiki. I was also pleasantly surprised by the many ways that I have learned to utilize technology in my future role as a school administrator.
Initially, it took me a month or so to adapt to the online delivery method of the course. However, after spending time in the virtual classroom and becoming more accustomed to navigating D2L, I began to truly appreciate the flexibility of being in an online course. It was great to be able to do things such as be on a road trip and still have immediate access to my class assignments and resources on my smartphone.
Overall, I found the coursework to be engaging and informative. I am excited about my future endeavors, as an educational leader, and I look forward to being able to put the knowledge and skills that I have acquired from this course into action.
